Solar radiation and high temperatures may result in natural avalanche activity. Avlanches could also be triggered by skiers. The avlanche activity are increasing during the day.

You can easily trigger avalanches on some steep slopes. Avalanches are relatively harmless to people, but can knock you off balance. Can be dangerous close to terrain traps. (size 1)

Snødekket er stort sett smelteomvandla. Men det kan vere unntak i nordsider i høgfjellet. Snøgrensa ligg rundt 800 moh i nordvendt terreng, høgare i sørvendt terreng.

Det kan framleis ligge vedvarende svake lag djupt det gamle snødekket i høgfjellet, men forventa utbreiing av dette er begrensa. Problemet er truleg kun til stades i dei høge fjella nordaust i regionen.

Det er fleire dagar sidan sist det har vore minus grader i fjellet. Minimumstemperatur natt til søndag på Kvitenova målestasjon (1400 moh) var 7,4 grader C.

Avalanche risk assessment

Snødekket vil opplevast som stort sett stabilt, men når snøoverflata vert våt og mjuk kan det løysne våte laussnøskred.

I nordvendte fjellsider høgt til fjells i indre strøk kan det i enkelte områder framleis finnast restar av vedvarande svake lag djupt i snødekket. Stigande temperaturar kan føre til at det samlar seg vatn i desse laga og skred kan løysne. Dette er mest truleg kun aktuellt i svært få områder.
